First, I would recommend this company to anyone with a strong interest in management consulting and systems analysis. The firm has been in business for 20 years and has established a market niche based on a proprietary technique based on developing a Visualization Diagram leading to a transformation Roadmap. That's the good news. The bad news, for anyone pursuing a traditional engineering career is this proprietary technique does not appear to be documented anywhere, nor does it appear to be based on any recognized analytical framework. (At this point, it's wise to recall the words of George Box: "All models are wrong, but some are useful.") I met in succession with four key employees, finishing with the owner. I had a comfortable conversation with one. I brought to the interview several work products (I always do) to provide some show-and-tell focus to the conversation. Curiously, however, at no point did the interviewers present to me their Visualization Diagram wallchart. This is their primary deliverable and the foundation of their consulting practice, but they never walked me through it, opting instead to talk about it and its value to the client. Most consulting firms in the Beltway are famous for recommending to clients: "You need us. You need more of us. And you need us for a very long time." IT Cadre, on the other hand, has a bold and refreshing approach: a firm, fixed-price contract with a guaranteed delivery date. This approach apparently creates a dynamic, fast-paced project environment. In summary, for a management consultant/ systems analyst seeking a fast-paced environment with clients in multiple industries, this may be an ideal opportunity.

This was a phone screening that resulted in me being possibly passed onto the next phase of interviews. I received a phone call from the screener who asked me a number of questions and outlined the company roles and culture.
