I didn't advance past the initial round, but I attribute it to the recruiter who conducted my phone interview seeming quite uninterested right from the start. It almost seemed like she was multitasking, perhaps even on the move. I sensed early on that my chances were slim due to her lack of engagement during our conversation—it felt almost robotic, with minimal interaction beyond asking questions and moving on. While I understand recruiters are busy, and this is a routine part of their job, it was disappointing to invest my time and energy, feeling enthusiastic about a promising opportunity where I felt well-suited, only to leave with the impression that it was a wasted effort. A more thoughtful approach to candidate experience and clearer communication would have been greatly valued in this instance.
