I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Incubeta (London, England) in Sep 2016
Interview
The application process was quite long, after an initial application cv/cover letter/video response questions there was a quick telephone interview. The phone interview isn't too technical so as long as you know what ppc is it will be very straightforward.
Following that there will be a face to face interview or in my case it was a skype interview since I wasn't based in London. This one is half soft skills half technical, the best preparation would be to know how to set up a ppc campaign, how to manage it and what data to analyse. There are plenty of online resources to do that. NMPi will also recommend some sources to read which are all useful. I found watching videos on Youtube to be very helpful.
Passing that, there will be a presentation to prepare (1 week), you'll be given a brief beforehand followed by a half hour discussion. You'll also sit an in-house maths test, if you've prepared for numerical reasoning tests that will be given out by other employers it will be fine.
Lastly there was a final interview with the ops director, which was questions on my cv, personality and motivation.
Personally I found the experience to be very good. They were very accommodating with the fact that I was based outside London and accelerated the interview process while I was there. Offices are modern and look good and there seems to be a generally busy but friendly atmosphere. After the 2nd round interview I was recommended for a slightly different role, rather than working in PPC, it would be in programmatic display.
They're looking for someone with good numerical skills but also extroverted. The role involves working with clients, so they'll be looking for someone with those skills as well.
My biggest criticism would be having me wait an extra couple of days to get back to me after the original date. Still overall I give the whole process an 8/10.

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Incubeta
Interview
Very positive and friendly process, but a bit confusing going through an agency because I felt a bit in the dark - was only expecting one assessment day but ended up with two more interviews as well at late-notice - luckily I had planned to stay in London anyway.
Started with an initial assessment day which included some presentations from employees and info about the company, a maths test, and quick-fire behavioural interviews. Also had to give a short presentation on a topic we had prepared in advance. Good opportunity to meet lots of different employees.
Second interview was also very relaxed and felt like a very two-way process of trying to understand how I would fit into the company.
Then was called back for third interview at short notice. This caught me a bit off-guard and felt more like I was being tested and analysed than the previous two days which had been very relaxed.
They are definitely looking for passion for digital marketing rather than an interest in NMPi specifically (don't mention if you're interviewing outside the sector!) and a good character fit for the company. Really friendly atmosphere to the whole process.

Interview
Overall positive experience. Consisted of a inital phone chat, more a chat than a phone interview. This was followed by a first stagel interview which involved a maths test (not too hard, similar to numerocal reasoning tests many other job/grad schemes give). Second stage interview involved a 15 min presentation, followed by questions and a few more questions.
