Unprofessional and Rigid Interview Experience
I interviewed for a Talent Acquisition role at Industry Buying and made it to the final round with the CTO. While it was unusual for a CTO to be involved in a TA interview, I was open to the process. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing.
The CTO lacked a basic LinkedIn presence, which made it difficult to understand his background or leadership style beforehand. During the interview, he was extremely rigid and expected answers in purely technical jargon—offering no space or support for responses in simpler terms. This felt both unnecessary and unproductive.
Overall, the interview felt less like a genuine hiring process and more like a branding exercise for the company. It left me with the impression that the role may not have been seriously open and that the interview process was poorly aligned with the actual responsibilities of the position.
I hope the company reevaluates its interview approach, especially for HR functions, and focuses more on fair, role-relevant, and respectful candidate experiences.
