      I interviewed at Insomniac

      Interview

The process took about a month. It was mainly due to scheduling changes. The recruiter and manager seemed unaligned. My screening with HR was rescheduled once. My interview with the hiring manager was rescheduled three times. The first time I logged into zoom and waited 15 minutes for the interviewer. I emailed the recruiter and was told that the manager was unavailable. The second time my interview was scheduled for a Thursday and Tuesday afternoon I was sent a second invite for Wednesday. The Thursday invite was still there. The interview with the hiring manager did not seem professional. It was clear that my skills did not align with the role and I was lectured for nearly 20 minutes about why their specialty is important and that I should invest time into learning more if I "want to stay in the industry". I have experience in a completely different field. It overall felt very condescending. It's no wonder the role is still open nearly 3 months out between ineffective scheduling and an unprofessional hiring manager.
