      Front End Engineer Interview

      Aug 17, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Insticator (New York, NY) in Jul 2017

      Interview

I had an initial phone screen with an engineering team lead, which was followed by me completing a coding test. Then I had 3 onsite interviews with the CEO, Chief People Officer and different product and engineering team members. The interview process felt a bit hectic and fast paced, but the tasks were reasonable and every member I met was very friendly. At this point, Insticator puts a lot of effort into making the process more structured, organized and clear for everybody. Things I liked: 1. I had my coding test sent to me immediately after my initial phone screen. The team lead actually looked into my code before moving forward with me. No time wasted. 2. Everybody was very open, respectful and friendly. That reduced my stress and anxiety levels. 3. The next steps were scheduled within a couple of days. 4. I was given direct feedback on how I was doing. 5. No one was clueless as to what position I was being interviewed for or why I had come to the office. Things I’d prefer to be different: 1. More background on the stages of the interview process so I feel more prepared as an interviewee. 2. The chance to have group interviews with team members instead of doing multiple one-to-one meeting. Overall, my experience was very positive. I liked the team and the product and was happy to receive and accept the offer.
