Two phone interviews, 3 hour writing exam, and two in-person interviews.
The female owner was very respectable and friendly, but she brought me in to meet her husband for the second interview in-person. I have, honestly, never had anyone belittle and berate me in a professional setting the way that he did. He tried to embarrass me, told me he would have never even considered hiring me, and rolled his eyes at whatever I said. He also said that usually they do the writing test after his interview, but he had no interest in talking to me with my background so they switched the order of the interview steps.
By the end of it, I wasn't even fighting for a job, I was sticking up for myself with the little pride I had left. After all of that (mind you, I was driving 3 hours to Chicago for each of these interviews) I sent a professional follow up and they never even gave me a straight no. They just ghosted me, after spending HOURS on their application and interview process. It was the most painful thing I've experienced. So painful, in fact, that it was a year ago and I still think about it and felt the need to post on Glassdoor to warn against any young people trying to work for their company. Don't do it. You're worth more than that. I promise you.
