I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at JCPenney (Lake Grove, NY) in Dec 2011
Interview
there were really basic situational questions; i.e. "what would you do if a customer asked for this," or "If this happened during your shift, how would you handle that." It was a 1 on 1 interviews with the store manager in lake grove. That manager is no longer with this branch but the new manager will be asking similar questions.

Question 1
what would you do if a customer asked for a shirt that we didn't have in stock?
It was fairly straightforward and easy. The woman I interviewed with was nice and not very intimidating. They took about a week to get back with me about an interview after I applied for the position.
I applied online. I interviewed at JCPenney (Alpharetta, GA) in Sep 2024
Interview
I was contacted by email about my application. Contacted HR Supervisor and scheduled an interview date and time. Met with HR the next day for an in person interview. Very informative conversation with HR Supervisor.
Very efficient and the interviewer was very nice and gave me a lot of time to answer questions. The questions were not hard and they were very manageable. It was more so a discussion rather than an interview.
