Interview process overall was great! I had a wonderful experience chatting with the third-party company JRD hired for recruitment. My first interview was over the phone, followed by an in-person interview with a hiring representative, and finally a meeting with the CEOs. Everything went smoothly, and I was offered a position. However, things took a downturn when it came to the offer itself. I had been hoping for a higher salary, so I countered with a request that I thought was reasonable based on my skills and experience. The company rejected my counteroffer, and I told the recruiter I would think it over and get back to her in a few days. About an hour later, after contacting my references and providing me with an official offer, the company rescinded the offer altogether, stating they would not be hiring me anymore because I was now “overqualified.” It left me feeling like you probably shouldn’t try to negotiate your salary with this company, or they might retract the offer entirely.
