I was called in for an interview for a Public Relations Assistant position.. My interview was scheduled for 8:20 am, the traffic got the best of me so I thought I was running late but when I got there they were surprised I was so "early" apparently they schedule their interviews at 8:20 because they assume applicants will be late and show up on time which is at 9 am.....ummm.....I over looked it, whatever. During the interview, mind you I thought I was coming in for a PUBLIC RELATIONS ASSISTANT position. I majored in PR I know what a PR person's duties are. When I asked what role I would play, she said they would cover that more in the 2nd round interview.
I'm known for not making such great decisions, and this proves it. I showed up for the 2nd interview. A manager took me down to their deli to explain the position in detail over coffee. and here is when the truth finally came out. NO PUBLIC RELATIONS IS INVOLVED AT ALL. I would be selling stuff for months until maybe later on if I open up my own office I can possibly do some public relations.....UMMMMM.
Lastly, after I finished my coffee and my "interview" he informed me that the lady who did my first round interview will like to chat before I leave. She sits down and asks "so what am I going to do with you?" I kindly told her sales just isn't the field I am interested in and I apologize for wasting your time. She response with "Well you can go, THX"
YEA. OK. BYE.
