Although I've eaten there and the food is very good, the service was a little dodgy, so going in to a "cattle call" (big internet posting looking for new servers, so you just show up resume in hand and interview on the spot) with a good resume, lots of experience, references, etc., I figured I had a good shot. Interviewed with a female manager who was not very put together - wet hair sort of messily pinned up, just not a good first impression, professionally speaking. That aside, interview was a lot of your basic hospitality industry questions - what do you know about the company, why do you want the job, give an example of great hospitality, etc. Interview seemed to go well with her, as we talked in depth about menu and spanish food/wine in general, my background, etc, she said she was impressed and seemed pleased. Asked me to wait to interview with GM (as he has final approval). waited... and waited.... and waited... finally a gentleman in a suit comes over to say that interviews are over bc the restaurant is opening, but don't worry, all the info they need they have. Never heard anything again. But they're still posting for servers, at least once a month... Maybe I just didn't have the "look"?
