      Vice President Operations Interview

      Oct 2, 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Houston, TX
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Karanwal Capital (Houston, TX) in Dec 2024

      Interview

The interview process for the VP role in M&A was well-organized, professional, and surprisingly welcoming, making it a smooth and friendly experience. It began with an online application where I submitted my resume and cover letter, highlighting my CA (2016), MBA from IIM Ahmedabad (2018), and 9 years of M&A experience. Within a week, HR reached out for a 30-minute phone screening. The recruiter was approachable, asking about my career goals and interest in the firm, setting a positive tone. The first formal interview was a 45-minute video call with a senior manager. It felt conversational, focusing on my leadership style, client interactions, and why I wanted the role. The manager was encouraging, making it easy to share my experiences. Next came a technical round, a 60-minute in-person session with an M&A director. They asked about a complex deal I’d worked on and a hypothetical client scenario (selling a family-owned business). The questions were challenging but fair, and the director provided clear guidance, fostering a collaborative vibe.
