      Content Manager Interview

      Jul 23, 2018

The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Khan Academy in Jun 2018

      Interview

The logistics were a pain. They repeatedly insisted that they wanted to move things along quickly, but it still took about 6 weeks to get through 2 rounds of interviews (and they said there would be about 5 rounds). The interviews left me with a negative impression of the content development. I spoke with the manager I'd have been replacing, who was candid about issues with lack of direction, constantly changing priorities, and preference for speed over quality. One example: I was asked to give feedback on content currently on the site. I found a number of straightforward errors (sentences with words missing/typos), and the departing manager was like "yeah...we don't have much quality control". It's too bad that an organization with such a big platform doesn't care more about doing things right.
