I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Konrad Group in Dec 2020
Interview
Phone screen, portfolio presentation, design challenge, meeting w co founder.
The people were cool and seemed to like their work a lot but the interview process needs some work. During my phone screening the recruiter was reading off a script which was weird but then during the portfolio presentation the two designers I spoke with were great and super engaged. The design challenge is hard and set up to not give you enough time, I got the sense that there was a much larger focus on final product UI than UX process which for me is a red flag but depends on the designer. Also they pay less then similar companies, Overall cool and probably talented people but they’re doing too much in their interview process and paying too little.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Konrad Group (Toronto, ON) in Jul 2026
Interview
My first round interview was very professional and straightforward. I'm waiting on the second round where I will complete a 2-hour take home assignment. The third round is a live portfolio review at their Toronto office. Fourth round is a 1-on-1 meeting with a higher up executive.
The first round with Konrad was very simple and conversational easy and I connected well with the recruiter, I am now waiting to hear back from them- i have heard only good things about them
I applied online. I interviewed at Konrad Group in Aug 2024
Interview
4 rounds of interviews
1. Call with HR (30min)
2. In person interview with 1 designer to present portfolio + answer other questions. (1 hour)
3. Technical Interview - Whiteboarding challenge and redesign challenge + presentation (3.5 hours)
4. Discussion with person in leadership
I found the 3.5-hour technical interview challenging because it was unclear what they were looking for, as their answers were quite vague. Additionally, they don't provide any feedback if you don't advance to the next round.
