Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law interview questions

Interviewing at this organization was one of the most frustrating, demoralizing experiences of my professional life. I did five interviews, including two with the CEO, had to complete a writing assignment, and they checked my references. In other words, I was definitely a finalist candidate but after they checked my references they completely ghosted me. No one ever responded to an email or a phone call and I never heard back. To make matters worse, this is actually the second time this organization has done this to me. Several years ago I applied to a different position, went through several interviews and was ghosted at the end. I thought maybe they were having a tough time or there were other mitigating circumstances, but now that it's happened twice, it is obviously a pattern. This place is clearly toxic. Do not bother wasting your precious time applying to any job at this organization.

Lots of focus on litigation experience. Standard “tell us about a time where you did research” questions etc. Not much small talk or camaraderie at the beginning. They made it clear that they were willing to train on resources an applicant did not have strengths in so that was a welcoming sign
