Legal Action of Wisconsin interview questions

Applied to posting on company website found through LinkedIn post. Position was advertised as a salary up 101k. I went through 1 hour phone interview and 1 hour in person interview, No mention of compensation from the team during my interviews. I had to ask about it during final moments of my second interview where they asked what my ideal range would be. I said I'm hoping to be somewhere between 75k-85k. The director called me same day of my in person interview to schedule a call where they informed me there is a steps program in place by the board for salary based on years of experience and with my 8 years of accounting experience I am would be extended the offer of 56k.

I had a phone screening with the CFO and then was scheduled for a zoom interview with CFO, and two other people in Accounting. The phone screening took about 20-25 mins and the zoom interview was an hour.
