      Legal Engineer Interview

      Apr 8, 2026
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Chicago, IL
      No offer
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Legora (Paris) in May 2026

      Interview

There are four interview stages. The first is with Human Resources, the second with the Lead Manager, the third is a demo presentation, and the fourth is with the Head of Legal Engineering. The questions are mainly about how you would handle day-to-day work, communicate with clients about AI, and solve practical problems. For this position, the interview focused much more on practical scenarios than on legal knowledge or the technical aspects of LLMs. They ask what you think the position is and how you helped your client in the implementation of X tool .

      Question 1

They also ask what you think the position is about. They asked how you helped clients implement a particular AI or Legal Tech tool, whether you have experience introducing new tools, and how you managed user adoption and change during the implementation process.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Legora (Chicago, IL) in Apr 2026

      Interview

The first step was an initial video screening about 30 minutes long, where we discussed generally my professional experience, the general job responsibilities, and an overview of the entire interview process. It was followed up with a second video interview with the department leader also about 30 minutes long, where it was slightly more focused on my professional experience and career history. The second interview was, for lack of a better way of putting it, a slight disappointment in the general process. The interviewer arrived late, seemed disinterested in anything I was discussing, seemed generally unprepared (e.g., didn't seem like they reviewed my resume to any meaningful degree), and cut the interview a bit short. Things happen, which I understand, but felt dismissed within the first 2 minutes of the discussion without ever really getting into anything of substance.

      Legal Engineer Interview

      Apr 10, 2026
      Anonymous employee
      New York, NY
      Accepted offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Legora (New York, NY) in Mar 2026

      Interview

I interviewed with seven different people, including a case presentation. This was by far the worst candidate experience I've encountered in my career. From interview to interview, no one seemed to know what the process was. One interviewer canceled 30 minutes before and ended up taking the call from a crowded airport bar. It was extremely difficult to even have a conversation, let alone demonstrate my qualifications. I was told the final interview would be in-person at the company's NYC office. I traveled to the city at my own expense, only to arrive and find that the interviewers were surprised and had expected it to be conducted online. I had yet another interview scheduled after the in-person, even though I was told the in-person was the final interview. I interviewed for one specific role throughout the entire process. When the offer finally came through, it was for a different role. Throughout the process, I invested significant time and effort to evidence my qualifications. I received an offer, negotiated a compensation package, and accepted. When the offer letter came through, I asked for clarity on a few minor points during a call on Friday, with next steps for their team to provide a response. By Monday evening, they had rescinded my offer, citing misalignment on employment terms and compensation, neither of which was true. When I asked for more specific reasons, my would-be manager agreed to a feedback call. He showed up with someone from HR, and together they could not provide a single concrete reason for why the offer was rescinded. They called it a "holistic evaluation" made after an offer had already been extended and accepted. They could not say whether the company had ever rescinded an offer before or provide any actionable feedback whatsoever.
