Round 1 – Technical Screening (with Third-Party Interviewer)
Focus areas:
JavaScript: 2 coding questions
Scenario-based testing: Given a real-world scenario and asked to prepare relevant test cases
API testing questions
Automation (Playwright): How to automate “add to cart” functionality on a dynamic page
Overall Experience:
The round was well-structured, balanced between coding, testing, and automation. Cleared successfully.
Round 2 – Technical Discussion (with Senior SDETs)
Originally scheduled with the Hiring Manager, but conducted by two Senior SDETs.
Focus areas:
JavaScript: String and array-based coding questions (easy to moderate difficulty)
Manual testing: Basic concepts and practical understanding
API testing: Conceptual and scenario-driven questions
Scenario-based QA discussions
Defect handling: Severity vs. Priority examples
Overall Experience:
The discussion felt like a deeper dive into both automation and manual QA fundamentals. The round tested both problem-solving and practical QA thinking.
