I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at LloydsDirect (London, England) in Jan 2022
Interview
There's 4 rounds which you go through.
The first is a 30 minute conversation with one of the recruitment team to get a general idea about who you are, what you are looking for and your expectations. This is easy enough and they're lovely to talk to.
The second round is a 30 minute interview with the Head of Development. This is a bit more in depth about your technical abilities as well as how you work and some talking around your decision to choose LloydsDirect. The Head of Development is again an easy person to talk to and he will ask a good amount of questions.
The third round is an hour long technical interview. This has the joy of being a "bring your own code" interview so no tasks to complete and submit or live coding in front of 2 engineers. I feel the idea about this is to test you on your communication, so explaining a piece of software which they haven't seen before and for you to be able to walk through the code explaining the structure and why you did things in a particular way. As long as you wrote the code and know how it works then this shouldn't be too difficult. I presented a previous technical exercise from an interview at another company which was a small API, there were 2 engineers on the call who were listening and asking questions while I explained the application. Again they were easy to talk to and engaging.
The final round is a 45 minute values interview. As with every stage, easy to talk to. There was a user researcher and a product manager leading this stage who asked questions about what's important to you and how you work in a company, they wanted to know about the motivations for joining LloydsDirect and what you do in your current role apart from development. These two were great to talk to and really friendly, makes me think that choosing LloydsDirect was a excellent idea.
It was a couple of rounds of interviews with different people across the business and a bring your own code technical interview to walk 2 engineers through. Was all done remotely.

Interview
I found this job posting on Cord through a recruiter. She was very defensive during our initial phone chat when I'd given her answers as to why I chose to apply to LloydsDirect. I was told she would be in contact with me, but she didn't respond for 2 weeks until I tried re-applied via. another source. Afterwhich she emailed me saying: "Unfortunately, we're not going to take your application any further at the moment." Not very helpful feedback at all. My CV fit the job description well, and so i'm surprised I was rejected with such little feedback.
