Very long, it’s definitely a big game of “hurry up then wait”. However when things get moving things really get to moving so patience is key. Check your email daily that will be their main method of communication, rarely will they call but they have called me a couple times (they will leave a message).
You will Meet with a panel. It is a Character based interview. If you study and prepare you'll be fine. Met with current firefighter and personnel. Interview took about 30 minutes.
