I applied for the role online and was contacted by HR for an initial screening call. During this first interview, the conversation was recorded while the recruiter also took notes.
The second stage was a technical interview, which lasted about 30 minutes. There was no preparation required in advance. During the call, I was given a link to a Google document containing an SQL query. I couldn’t run the query, but I was asked to review it, identify any potential issues, and suggest improvements.
In terms of the overall experience, I found the tone of both interviews somewhat concerning. Both the recruiter and the technical interviewer came across as quite dismissive, which gave the impression that they were doing me a favor by conducting the interviews. This created a somewhat uncomfortable dynamic.
Additionally, when I asked about how things were going within the team, the response emphasized how intense and fast-paced the environment is, mentioning long working hours (approximately 9am to 9pm). This raised concerns for me regarding work-life balance and overall team culture.
Finally, the salary range discussed for the level of seniority expected seemed relatively low compared to the current market.
Overall, while the process was structured, these factors were red flags for me, and I did not proceed to the next stage.
