Relatively standard interview process. Went through a few levels of leadership. The hiring team seemed very eager. Spoke with other colleagues with similar experiences, They are keen on hiring smart young talent and interview reflects that.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Luminance AI in Nov 2024
Interview
Luminance is a company with little respect for candidate time and effort.
Across what was meant to be three, but become four different interviews, I was asked the very similar questions, and when I asked my recruiter why they weren't rolled into one or two sessions, I was told this was to avoid bias - something easily mitigated through what I would consider to be a basic HR process of recording your feedback immediately after an interview and then discussing it as a panel. Further to this, most of the questions were centred around 'why us' vs 'why you' which raised alarm bells for me - surely you should be doing a case study if you're going to do three interviews? To ensure candidates have the desired skillset?
I was given an additional FOURTH stage interview, which felt extreme for a relatively junior CSM role, which required travelling into the office to meet the CEO. This was scheduled as a 30 minute meeting, which started late and only lasted for 10 minutes. Very bluntly, her first question was 'why are you here?' and she proceeded to send messages on her laptop throughout (as I heard the message tones coming through), reflecting the lack of respect I felt as a candidate throughout the process.
They seem to prioritise character over experience (in fact, I was told this), and whilst that's absolutely important, I think this their way of saying that they are just looking for people who will work long hours to get things over the line whilst they mature their processes. No thank you!
Rather relieved not to have received an offer from Luminance especially looking at the reviews from both current and former employees. Though, some feedback as to why I was rejected would have been courteous given the number of interviews and time spent on this.

Question 1
What's a personal or professional challenge you've overcome?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Luminance AI in Apr 2024
Interview
Distracted, making faces. It was a panel interview of 2 people and can see both of them texting, it seemed rude, with hardly any questions, seemed like someone forced them to interview. Also, no feedback when asked, no clear understanding of the role itself, one of the worst.
