The phone screen felt highly scripted and transactional. The recruiter appeared to follow a fixed list of questions without engaging with my responses or asking follow-up questions. This made the conversation feel one-sided and limited my ability to share my background in a meaningful way.
Overall, the process came across as more focused on checking boxes than understanding candidates. A more conversational and interactive approach would create a better candidate experience and allow for a stronger mutual evaluation
Other Associate Interview Reviews for Luminary Labs
The interview process is very rigorous- screener interview, 2 interviews virtually, another interview cycle virtually, and then a 2 hour in-person interview (behavioral and case interview) prior to one final interview in-person with the CEO. This company has completely ghosted candidates after multiple rounds of interviews, which is extremely disrespectful and disheartening after asking candidates to sacrifice so much time for their process.

Question 1
Lots of repetitive “tell me about yourself” questions
I applied in April 2026. I heard back the next day, and then was assigned an interview time for the following week.
The first interview was short, and it felt more like a script rather than a conversation. I didn't feel as if I had time to properly explain my background. I was told I'd hear back within the week; I received an automated rejection over 2 weeks later.
