      Information Technology Specialist Interview

      Jan 12, 2021
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Coopersburg, PA
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, PA) in Jan 2021

      Interview

Lutron's interview process is a detailed and thorough experience. Broken up into to two parts, Lutron uses an organized method in order to screen their candidates. The first half of the interview had a focus on Computer Science subjects in which they get an idea of the candidates foundation. This portion of the interview concluded with the Interviewers and I logically discussing what was taking place in a provided diagram. Next, was the second half of Lutron's interview. The Interviewers who lead this portion had also gone through the same rotational program that I applied for. This allowed for them to provide additional insight. For this part of the interview I was lead through a case scenario that provided a practical experience. This allowed the interviewers to see how a candidate will handle certain real situations. Throughout the entire experience, Lutron makes it abundantly clear that communication is an important attribute that the company holds. All representatives were professional and responsive to my inquires.

      IT Specialist Interview

      Apr 17, 2023
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Declined offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics in Mar 2023

      Interview

Lutron's interview process was rather long and consisted of multiple interviews/meetings on individual days, but was without a doubt a good experience. ** Interview Details ** There are three rounds. They conduct all of them virtually - they used to bring people onsite for the later rounds but this is no longer the case. Overall, the process took 8-9 hours collectively over the course of a few weeks, and I interviewed/talked with 9 people. Before you get an offer, they will ask you to provide references. **Interview Rounds** The first is your standard 30min-1hr call with someone from the IT team, where they'll ask the standard HR questions as well as check what you've listed on your resume. The second round is where the technical knowledge starts. It's a 3 hour interview, broken into two "sub-interviews" with 2 interviewers per. In the first one, I was asked some questions about my resume then was shown a network diagram with blanks for me to fill in. The second one was an IT roleplay scenario where I was given an issue I needed to troubleshoot. The interviewers are gauging your problem-solving skills and thought processes here. The third round is slightly less technical. It is also 3 hours, broken up this time into 5 sub-interviews with 5 different people. The first sub-interview lasts an hour, and the rest 30 minutes. The first one was similar to the roleplay in that I was asked how I would go about implementing something for the company. The rest were meetings with various leads/members of the IT staff, all of which essentially asked me questions on my resume and allowed me time to ask them questions. Finally, I had a 30 minute call with a recruiter to discuss offer details. Overall, most of the interviewers made me feel comfortable and I really did value the process, even though I declined the offer. I think the time spent was certainly worth it. ** Position Details ** This was/is a rotational program, so you do learn about all the different teams and get a chance to work everywhere. If you're not sure about what you want to do, it seems like a very good program with supportive people (at least, from the interviewee perspective) ** Comp ** Compensation was the primary reason I rejected this offer - 70k. This is non negotiable and supposedly the same rate offered to everyone. They did say that raises are given in the first year however.

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Lutron Electronics (Coopersburg, PA) in Jan 2021

      Interview

Lutron had the best interview process, they know how to make the candidate feel comfortable talking to them and don't want to scare you but instead teach you which I appreciated. Initially, I was given a first interview then selected for a second. The first interview consisted of meeting the job requirements. The second interview was testing your knowledge and experience with solving real life situations.
