I recently interviewed for this role and had a good experience with the interviewers themselves. The first interview was primarily an overview with the hiring manager, who explained the role but asked very few questions about my background.
I then moved to a second interview with his manager, which was also positive and gave a clear picture of the role and expectations. I shared my experience, and the conversations felt engaging and, frankly, like they were moving toward a mutual fit. I was told I would hear back the following week.
After two weeks of no communication, I was eventually contacted by a recruiter to inform me I would not be moving forward. According to the recruiter, there was no negative feedback and the conversations were enjoyed.
What was disappointing was not the decision itself, but the lack of basic follow through. Setting an expectation of a follow up and then going silent for weeks, only to have the outcome delivered indirectly through a recruiter, felt disjointed and impersonal.
The interviews themselves were strong, but the communication and professionalism after the interviews did not match that standard.
