Was told to come down to the office at Queenstown for the interview, where I filled in a form about my job expectations, the ways in which I could contribute to the company, and my anticipated salary. After filling in this form, the manager/supervisor invited me into her office and reviewed the form in front of me, asking me to elaborate on my answers for the questions. She then told me that the job scope would include assisting the lead graphic designer, but avoided stating other specifics about my role. After this, she walked me through the 7-page contract very briefly, and circled key points that I ought to know. As this was my first job interview, I didn't recognise that the employee benefits were limited to confirmed employees and that I would be subject to a probation period, during which all the terms in the contract would not apply - and this was not highlighted by the supervisor or the contract. For first time applicants, please remember to ask questions about probation and full-time confirmation.
