Punctual, organised, professional. The interview consists of two parts, first presenting the studio and some projects and second present your portfolio and answer questions. Overall a standard experience. Not so easy to understand the feedback or the outcome.
I applied through college or university. I interviewed at MVRDV (Venice) in Feb 2026
Interview
Very strange interview process, the person who was interviewing students was clearly not interested in anybody’s portfolio. They came to promote themselves, not actually hiring anyone, and it felt a bit cruel for students who lined up waiting for them.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at MVRDV (Rotterdam) in Apr 2023
Interview
It didn't go so well. I was asked about my job at the time, because it wasn't clear to them what function I had. In the website of my job I was placed in the urban design team, but actually I'm an architect. That was related to internal organisation and what the management thought I could work on then. So that was confusing to them. In any case, they asked me about my projects, portfolio, and seemed a bit detached or not too interested. There was no "click" so to speak so I knew it wasn't going to go well, probably.
