Fairly comfortable and easy. I was looking for a new position because the previous company, which was a very renowned home textiles company, wasn't utilizing my skills. This was disappointing and frustrating because they could not find a spot for me, I had no choice but to leave. I wanted to be in a place where I would be using my color and textile knowledge I learned in college. I expressed all of this during my interview with Madison88 and I really truly felt they were going to make me a part of their family. They were very impressed with my knowledge and portfolio and offered me the position within 5 days. The only major drawback was there was a pay-cut. I took the position anyway because I knew I would finally be in an environment where I would be learning so much and be a part of the creative process. It turned out the opposite. They didn't follow through with any of their promises. It was a wasted year of my professional life. Madison 88 prides themselves on being a small company, somewhere fashion/textile graduates can have "individual attention to grow and learn" instead of being "overlooked in a big corporate company". But actually I've learned more in the past 5 months at my current position (which is a big corporate company) than I ever did in my year and 3 months at Madison 88. They just don't have time to train JR level employees. They just need people to take care of the dirty work to help the Senior developers.
