Begins with a 3 hour online coding assessment. Questions 1 and 3 required basic usage of Python libraries for data manipulation and linear regression. These were very straightforward. Question 2 is an algorithms question of around leetcode medium difficulty. It is very achievable to finish everything in the time allotted. Overall, I would say the online assessment is reasonable. This is where the positive things I have to say about the process ends. After receiving a feedback report stating that I scored 100% on all questions, the company never responded to me thereafter despite my following up with them. They seem quite happy to let you spend your time preparing for and taking their assessment (which, again, is 3 hours long - twice as long as anyone else's) when they have no real intention of interviewing you anyway. My advice to anyone applying to Mako in the future is to be conscious of the fact that they are disrespectful of candidates time. If you have other opportunities ongoing, I would prioritise these.

The interview started with a coding test, followed by 2 rounds of technical + fit interviews with the team and then a final interview with various stakeholders in the company. The process was changed slightly due to Covid 19.
