Interview
I was contacted through AngelList by Ev and set up an onsite meeting with—I believe—their head of design. I had the option of chatting over the phone, but since I'm local I'll usually always take the opportunity to meet in person, which I did. Just had a fairly informal chat; their office is gorgeous. It was no-pressure and was a great conversation about design and what Medium is up to. He wrote down tons of notes during the conversation, I think he filled two full pages in his notebook. Ultimately, I was contacted later and told that they're looking for someone with more product experience in the publishing world, which is understandable.

Interview
I was asked to do an initial phone interview, then someone called to let me know that they wanted to fly me to SF for all-day in-person interviews including a 1:1 with Ev who just asked me what I thought and how I felt. That was a nice surprise. Everyone was lovely. I didn't get the job, but I think it was a fair (sometimes fun!) process.
