      Engineering Manager Interview

      Jul 3, 2026
      Anonymous employee
      Tel Aviv-Yafo
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Melio (Tel Aviv-Yafo) in Apr 2026

      Interview

The process was super organized and went through a few main steps: - Recruiter Chat: A quick 15-30 minutes phone call just to sync up on my background and see if we were a good match. - Technical Design (2 interviews): The first was a remote round with two managers where we deep-dived into projects I’ve built before and talked about why I made certain design choices. The second was a system design round where I had to design a architecture based on specific requirements, focused on payments. - Hiring manager interview: A chill conversation with the hiring manager to talk about team culture, soft skills, and how I like to work. - HR & VP engineering: First an HR interview about company values, followed by a chat with the VP of Engineering about the bigger technical vision. References and offer. Overall, it was a really great and smooth process from start to finish.

      Question 1

Can you walk us through the architecture of a project you worked on recently? Why did you pick that tech stack, and what were the trade-offs?
