I was invited to a pre-screening call for a new position. It went well and I was told I'd hear about next steps the following week. It's been 7 weeks since the initial interview and despite following up on three separate occasions, I have received no response or communication.
This was a disappointing experience. Candidates invest significant time preparing for interviews, researching the organisation and engaging with the recruitment process. At a minimum, they deserve timely communication and the courtesy of an update, even if there has been a delay or the outcome is unsuccessful.
Professional and ethical recruitment should include keeping applicants informed rather than leaving them without any response. Unfortunately, this experience fell well below the standard I would expect.
