A friend put in my resume to get me an interview in the New York PR office. I communicated with a recruiter who led me through the process. The recruiter was very friendly and helped me arrange an interview. She sent me a list of people I would meet with and let me know what companies this team was working on so I could study for the interview. I arrived and people were quite friendly, but when meeting with the first person we realized that the recruiter had given me the wrong information about the team, so I studied the wrong projects and companies in preparation. I met with 4 people in three meetings and then spoke on the phone with the head of their team. They were all really nice and easy to speak with. After the interview (which lasted about 2 hours), they sent me an assignment to work on. I spent a few hours planning and writing a press release. The next week, after submitting the assignment, they told me they were no longer hiring for the position. I asked if they could still give me some feedback, as I spent hours working on the project. They said yes and then I never heard from them again. They were very nice, but I definitely felt totally disposable to MullenLowe.
