I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at NEC Corporation (Singapore) in Jan 2018
Interview
The call came through a vendor company and I had the opportunity to interview for a contract role with a senior engineer there who asked about my software development experience from my previous company. Technical interview was fine. But I had a terrible experience with the HR there who asked a lot of personal and irrelevant information like if I was staying alone in the house or was sharing the house with others, if I had children which I was quite uncomfortable answering.
The worst racist sentence the HR told me was foreigners couldn't afford day care in Singapore and if I would ever have a child,I would have to quit my job to take care of the child. This felt like a personal attack and was totally avoidable..I would never work for a company which thinks this way.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
programming languages,OS used in previous company.
if I had experience drawing UML diagrams,
how many lines of code I had written in my entire life
Interview process include aptitude, Group descision, Technical and HR round. All are properly organised easy to mediums level questions in technical round . Communication should be good to clear interview.
There was a prescreening of my resume by the recruitment company. But, during the actual interview, No questions were asked. Was a complete farce. Seems the difficulty is not many people survive the job, so the interview process is made very simple. No written test.
I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at NEC Corporation (Singapore) in Jul 2025
Interview
My resume clearly states my experience level, yet they invited me to the interview just to have an arrogant interviewer belittle my background from another industry. If you weren’t serious about my profile, don’t bother calling — so disrespectful and unprofessional. No wonder there's unpleasant comment on Glassdoor — you can feel how toxic the culture is, even through the interview. Zero EQ :(
