It was in 5 steps. 1- I got interviewed by the HR professional. 2- I met with Attorneys with whom I'd be working daily. 3- I met with the team leader who is Associate Partner 4- I met with a Senior Partner. 5- I had a generic HR assessment by Hudson.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Firstly, it was mostly about who I am and why I want this position. The HR-assessment was similar to IQ tests, personality tests, reasoning etc. Also a case study (irrelevant to the field) with role playing as if I am a consultant and they are clients.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at NLO (Brussels) in Nov 2022
Interview
After applying via website I had an online call with the HR, then a physical meeting with the possible colleagues, team leader and a partner. All went quite smooth and positive, and took about 2 weeks. Then I was "examined" via online screening by two 60+ men who were HR experts from a very well known HR firm. They did a cognitive skills test, a case study (no relation to IP) and a personality test. Nothing was related to IP. It was a generic test without any assessing capability, and no special features (online there are much better options for free). One can easily pretend to be anyone... I was honest in my answers. Anyway, they told me I am better than many candidates in cognitive skills and background, but failed because I don't have the "corporate mentality" (they were right, I never worked in the private sector before). They literally told me that I have red flags. It was a terrible feeling after good connection with potential teammates and looking forward to beginning a new journey in a good company. The HR of the firm told me that the last word is the HR-firm's word, so, I was rejected.
