National Center for Learning Disabilities interview questions

Fantastic organization! Very responsive, professional and approachable during the interview process. After the initial interview, I was given a work task to complete. I appreciated the chance to showcase some of skills and approach to problem solving. While we were ultimately not a match for each other, I really love what NCLD does and am excited for their growth!

I rarely write reviews about companies, but I have to shine a light on the NCLD post-interview process. I applied online and was contacted a few months later for a phone interview. A week later, I received an invitation for an in-person meeting at their NYC office. Before the interview date, I was asked to do an Interview Pre-work exercise that consisted of reading a 15-page document and writing a one-page summary/brief notes due before the scheduled interview date. Interview day! I arrived promptly for my Interview and was ushered into a room to complete another interview exercise that lasted around 45 minutes. This exercise consisted of me reading ten emails (Actual company emails) which came with four columns that needed completion. Column 1, was to rate each email from 1-10, Column 2, Explaining the rationale of the rating given, Column 3, Responding to the email, Column 4, Describing your follow up tactics for the email. Mind you; these were lengthy emails in which you have to think of the next course of action. Time flew and I didn't finish but two, but they said it wasn't a big deal as it was for me to get an idea of how NCLD operates. After the exercise, the panel came into the room and went over the emails asking what I thought about each and had me verbally explain the rationale rating given. Then the questions moved towards traditional style interview questions including behavioral. The total time of the interview lasted 2.5 hrs. Throughout the entire interview process from phone to in-person, I have nothing but nice things to say to all involved. Everyone was gracious and seemed interested in getting to know me as an applicant. However, the negative rating given is solely on the notion of the post-interview process. I received absolutely nothing in regards to the standing of the job ( Modern day job ghosting). I can understand the company moving forward with another candidate, but it says a lot as they kept reposting the position multiple times since April up until November. I had this interview at the end of August. If I wasn't what the company was looking for, I felt as I should have received an email at least, considering the time and effort put into this entire process. It's unfortunate as NCLD was a company that I was so excited to work for due to being passionate about their mission and brand. To be a part of a company that raises awareness and fords people with learning disabilities the opportunity for more inclusion in today's society was perceptually exciting. NCLD, please do better in the post-interview process! You ask a lot from applicants, so a simple email stating the standing of the position shouldn't be hard on your end.
