I reached out to the hiring manager and she set up a call immediately. It was more of an introductory and causal conversation which I enjoyed. After that, I spoke with a recruiter who was very friendly and asked me basic questions like my salary expectation, when I would be able to start and so on. This was followed by a 30 min peer interview over the phone which was again casual and friendly. I was asked about my general knowledge about the company and why I would like to work there. It was a great opportunity for me to ask questions and understand the role a bit more since it was kind of a newly created team. I was told that they wanted to move me to the next stage where I had to interview with 4 people in the NYC office including sales, customer success, air supply and hotel supply.I think it was a great opportuntity to meet with potential future colleagues and ask questions about the culture, challenges, strenghts & weaknesses of the team etc. I observed that people from other departments didn't have an understanding of the role I was interviewing for and felt like they were just given list of questions to ask. Only one of them who was from the hotel supply team was knowledagble about the role. The only downside for me was not being able to interview with the hiring manager in person which I think makes a difference at the end of the day however I enjoyed overall interview process. From recruiters to team members I met, everyone was very friendly and nice. Benita, the recruiter who was in touch with the all the time and really kept an open communication channel which was great. They decided to move on with another candidate but overall, I had a smooth, fast moving interview process which I appreciated.
