I applied through college or university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NewsGuard Technologies (New York, NY)
Interview
I applied with a resume, did a couple of tests to write up and evaluate some news sites, and then had an in person interview. It was probably the most traumatic interview I’d had though. I might have just been very young then but I left the interview and cried because I was told that if I wanted to be anything in journalism, I needed to take this job. I knew what they had offered me was $12k less than what they had offered a friend of mine who had done less journalism work. But in general, I just didn’t have the financial ability to take the job for what they had offered me.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at NewsGuard Technologies (London, England) in Apr 2024
Interview
The process is pretty quick, informal and easy. First interview, practice task where you write a label or fact check a claim, then if that goes well there's a final interview with senior editors, and final response.
