A Nomad Health recruiter reached out to me via InMail on LinkedIn. The recruiter was a REAL PERSON, which was incredibly refreshing given the literal hundreds of spam recruiting messages I receive every week. As a preliminary interview screen, the recruiter set up a time to speak on the phone. He was just as great on the phone as he was over Linkedin chat. That call resulted in moving me onto the next round of interviews.
The next round was a 60-min technical interview with one of their senior backend engineers. He was incredibly patient, calm, and carried a kind, supportive demeanor. We started the call talking about our backgrounds and then moved onto the pair-coding challenge piece. I tend to freeze up on live pair-coding challenges so I was nervous. Fortunately, the interviewer was incredibly supportive, kind, and helpful. I didn't perform as well as I should have during this interview, I froze up quite a bit and didn't finish the challenge but the interviewer acted as if I did a great job.
Haven't heard back on whether they're moving forward with me or not. I'm expecting a "Thanks for applying but we're not moving forward with you at this time" email sometime this week. No matter the outcome, I have nothing but positive feelings towards Nomad and the interview process. An incredibly positive experience.
