tl;dr It's overall a great experience interviewing with Nugit, but I rejected because I got another offer that fit me better. I might apply next time cause I really like the team and the product is super interesting too.
I applied online and it didn't take long for the team to get back.
The process started with an 1-on-1 meeting over coffee with the technical director to understand each other better. What I most like is he actually encourage new employee to take 1-2 months break before starting with Nugit. (I guess it means: 1. They really care about you, 2. They are not in the rush to hire and they are careful with all the hires).
2nd round was supposed to be a take-home assignment but turned out to be an online screening over some coding skill, so I guess it varies. And the last was onsite with 3 rounds where I got to meet 5 engineers where 3 are from the team I applied for and 1 (or 2) others are engineering managers. The onsite ended with a casual chat at Nugit's own cafe (It's cool) where I had chance to talk with 2 Project Managers about anything. It's interesting and I guess it's part of the culture fit test too.
After that I got a chance to meet the CEO for a 30-mins chat and a (very random) chat with the director again at a local coffee shop after I meet him at the train station. He gave me some books to read to improve on the parts that I'm lacking and I believe he'll be a great mentor for anyone under him.
So generally it's a pleasant process. Though it's delayed abit at some points because of both the company and myself with some personal issue. The interview gave me opportunity to really talk with 8+ people in the company and understand the product and the team well. I feel that would be a great environment for any engineer.
