      Technical Support Engineer Interview

      Mar 27, 2019
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 7 weeks. I interviewed at Nuix

      Interview

My interview process with Nuix was perhaps the worst interviewing experience of my professional career. Nuix put me through SEVEN rounds of interviews--three of those being panel interviews--meeting or speaking with (via phone, Skype and in person) 12 individuals over a period of more than a month and a half. After all of that was over, I was told two times by the recruiter that he would get back to me within three business days at most. I was never contacted (it’s now more than two weeks later). I should note that everyone I spoke with were all friendly and I liked them. Also, I have no problem with Nuix choosing another candidate. However, to put a candidate through such trial not have the professional decency to conclude matters with them is astonishing. Not only was this, by far, the longest interview process I have ever seen or heard of (for an individual contributor role mind you) but also the least professionally-handled. What an overwhelmingly disappointing experience.

      Sydney
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Nuix (Sydney) in Nov 2018

      Interview

HR emailed for first interview and did not call at the decided time for the interview. After few hours, I sent an email and HR replied that they got busy, apologised and rescheduled the interview. At the next interview time, HR called in and asked few general questions to judge about my experience and know how regarding Nuix and its products. It went well but they asked about my salary expectation. I said that I am looking for a competitive salary but I won’t like to tell a figure at this time. They then asked about my current salary and insisted that I give them an idea. I told them about it roughly and that interview was finished. I asked them about next step if selected and they said that there will be 2-3 rounds of technical interviews. Interview was all well but I got email from HR after 5 days that they are not going ahead with my application. That’s all fine as it is their decision but I know my profile and my skills matched the job description well.. I have never been rejected like this at step one. I can clearly tell that they judged on the base of my current salary that they won’t be able to offer me a higher salary if I go ahead so they rejected me at first step. Good luck to them.
