      Head of Developer Relations Interview

      Jan 26, 2024
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at O(1) Labs

      Interview

Candidates BEWARE--> AVOID! This company is highly uncoordinated and they do not know what they want nor do they have a direction. These people will waste your time and steal your ideas. Having come from multiple top blockchain orgs, this has to be one of the most unprofessional experiences I've ever had. I'd highly recommend avoiding the headache based on the interview experience. The interview process was as follows: Interview 1: Hiring Screen (30 minutes) Interview 2: Hiring Manager (30 Min) Assignment: A 20 minute presentation Interview 3: Full interview loop including presentation, Q&A, and team interview (3 Hours!!!) Interview 4: People Ops Interview (30 min) Interview 5: Leadership interview (1 hour) Interview 6: CEO Interview I was told I did extremely well at every stage, especially on technical aspects. Additionally, I was told that the entire team had never seen such a quality presentation (at interview 3), only to be told I didn't have enough management experience *after interview 5*. This is a HUGE red flag, because I did not even apply for this role--they reached out to me for my experience. While I did not receive and offer, I realize this could render me biased, but keep in mind, my experience is what brought this company to my doorstep. It just doesn't make any sense why a company would waste so much of someone's time for something that could have been screened for in the first two interviews. Either they lack reasoning, coordination or are intentionally taking free ideas from candidates and not compensating them for it. For any professionals within the web3 space with options, I'd definitely avoid this company. Also, another red flag: Their CEO quit. While that itself--while uncommon--can happen, when you put everything together, paints a bigger picture.
