The interview process is very long and drawn out. I applied months ago for a position working in editorial for recipes and was called in to interview only to not hear anything back for weeks and then I came in to do a "test day" where I was in the office for 6+ hours, unpaid. While the three employees there were nice but the vibe I got from the overall environment wasn't great. I was expecting super passionate advocates but it was very transactional and cold. Part of my assignment for the day was leaving a review on the Food Monster app, which I was a little uncomfortable with. Honestly, that's what prompted me to even leave this review on Glassdoor. It doesn't seem right to have that as part of the interview process as it would obviously encourage people eager to get a job to leave a favorable review. I decided to remove myself from the process because for a "hardworking" and "fast-paced" start-up I got a lot of red flags that they don't actually thoughtfully consider candidates or really respect their time.
