    Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Opportunity Partners (Coon Rapids, MN) in January 2012.

    Interview

Semi-Independent Living Skills is a large field of work - the hiring process and interviewing emphasized the difference between typical human service jobs and this. This is loosely tied to to the type of work a social worker does. It's important that you are able to operate independently without the constant direction of a supervisor; be prepared to talk about flexibility and having a lot of initiative to do what needs to be done for the people who are served by the company. You will rarely have a cut and dry solution to everyday situations.
