I applied through college or university. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Packt (Mumbai) in Jan 2018
Interview
Got placed for the role of Acquisition Editor through college campus.
There were 3 rounds held in college.
There was Group Discussion followed by a personal interview where they try to analyse you as to why you should become a part of the packt team. Also they make you understand about the different roles and ask for your preference.
Then comes an elaborate online test based on the job profile you are applying for.
For AE the test had essentially 3 parts :
1. Research about the subject/topic given and find industry experts whom you would approach to author a book for Packt.
2. Write a few mails asking them to join the Packt team and explaining the steps that are to be followed. You are also expected to write a mail answering their doubts and queries.
3. They provide you with a sample containing the potential chapters that are going to be a part of the final book and you are asked to review and suggest changes so as to make the book better.
Finally 2 rounds are held in their Andheri Office.
The first round of interview is with the AE team leader under whom you are going to work if you land this job, s/he will try to gauge your responses by asking you behavioural questions like "What will you do if you are falling behind your monthly target?" or "What will you do if the author is not willing to cooperate with you?"
Second interview is with the Publishing Manager who will pretty much try to analyse you based upon your responses to the given situation.
If you go clear the online test the rest 2 rounds are manageable.
