I reached out to the Senior Talent Acquisition Business Partner at Pharmavite, who was very prompt and professional in reviewing my application and scheduling my interview. My first and only interview was with the Manager of Nutrition Science. Here are my key observations: Professionalism: The interview was conducted online, and the manager was the only person present. There was a noticeable lack of formality in terms of appearance and dress code, perhaps because the interview took place early in the morning. Scientific Exchange: When responding to questions related to my doctoral and postdoctoral research—answers that aligned with the current body of evidence and seemed relevant to the position—I sensed some resistance to my explanations, as though my responses were being dismissed. I offered to provide scientific references to support my answers, but she declined. Lack of Familiarity with Company Leadership: It was surprising that she didn’t seem to know the name of the company’s CEO, which struck me as unusual for a manager representing a major leader in health and wellness. While I am ultimately relieved not to have received this offer, I had expected a higher level of professionalism from someone in her role at a company of Pharmavite’s stature.
