We first had a call in which we agreed that I am an exact match of all the requirements needed. They look for a profile of senior engineer, devops, and who has a good knowledge in data mining/machine learning, and who has also a computer science/math background. I match all of these criteria, and can do even way more than they ask for, which I explain to the HR. He spoke with the team, and the feedback is that they want someone with the skillset that is in the requirements, what made me feel like I am speaking with a wall. Then I even take my time to write down my experiences in each of the particular points that they mention, so that the HR could dispatch it to them. Then he speaks with the team again and they again answer that they look someone with the skillset that they already mentioned, and which is exhaustively included in what I described that I can do, showing that they did not even read it. They finally never gave me a test task. The reason why this happened is because they did not like that I also have a Biology degree, which I explained clearly that I studied because by the age that someone starts university, I already knew a lot about computers (to make an idea, I was doing reverse engineering with IDA at 14 years old), and wanted to learn also something different. But they were conservationist and protect the ones with diplomas, underestimating the ones without them. They definitely prefer someone who does computer science for the diploma, and not because of his passion. We were a clear match which did not happen :)
