I recently had the opportunity to interview with PhonePe for a Software Engineer position with the Indus team. While I was excited about the opportunity and appreciated the chance to go through the interview process, I feel compelled to share feedback about my experience. Unfortunately, the interviews for the Problem Solving and System Design rounds were quite disappointing. The interviewers conducting these sessions demonstrated behavior that I found unprofessional and discourteous. Their tone was unnecessarily harsh, and there was a noticeable lack of basic courtesy and etiquette in their interactions. As a candidate, I understand the importance of being evaluated rigorously, but I also believe that respectful communication is fundamental to any professional interaction. Experiences like these can leave a negative impression—not just about the individuals involved, but also about the company culture they represent. I’m sharing this feedback with the hope that it will be taken constructively and help improve the overall interview experience for future candidates.
