I was made to waste 5 full days waiting for interviews that were never upheld. On each ocassion I was asked if I could be free the following day for a call which never happened. Times were never given or set in place, I was simply expected to be free on demand. When the call eventually happened, it was at 5pm and thus obviously somewhat rushed. That in itself is fine, however what is NOT fine, is for myself to be told that I was to expect an email and teams call with another member of the team the following morning. Which needless to say, did not come to fruition either, nor was there any form of etiquette to let me know. So low and behold a 6th day of mine has now been completely wasted and disregarded. I was eventually made aware that they did not want to pursue my application any further (which is completely fine), but they could not even be bothered to send me a 1 line email letting me know. Being busy is not an excuse for lack of etiquette, respect or basic manners. To me it presented a deep dive into the organisation, its culture and how employees must be treated. There is nothing wrong with rejecting applicants. But there is a lot wrong with not respecting other people's time. At the end of the day, time is not something money can buy and should not be disregarded simply because it was not yours to lose. Thank you for your time and opportunity despite not being offered the role (which is a decision I respect), but please consider the above points. A little bit of structure and communication in setting up interviews would have saved me DAYS of time. I'm sure if the roles were reversed, you would feel the same way.
