During my interview process at all stages I had to chase to get confirmation on whether I progressed to the final stage.
The first instance was a 2 week period whereby after chasing for an update I was informed by email that I was successful and will proceed to the final stage.
The final interview went very well with the CFO and I was informed I would be told in a week's time on the outcome. Three weeks later I had still heard nothing, even after sending an email follow up, called front of house as well as their direct line it was evident I was being ignored by HR.
In order to finally get an update after 3 weeks of calling through multiple avenues of communication I decided to call on private to which HR answered straight away.
I was informed that another candidate was selected which is not the issue. However, having to have chased 3 weeks after sending numerous emails with calls and asking other employees to forward internal messages on my behalf to in order to get an update is not great for a candidate.
My interview was not a great experience from my side which was further evidence that HR although receiving all of my requested updates had decided to have ignored.
In addition, during the start of the selection process, HR informed me that there was flex on the hybrid working model whereby they requested somebody to be in the office 4 days a week. However, after initial discussions, they said there was flex upon this stating it wouldn't be a problem if I decided to work from the office 3 days a week and so we proceed with the interview process. I was then told at a later time that part of the selection was down to my choice or way of working, which was contradictionary HR's behalf from their initial open statement.
